Kenya Airways suspends direct flights to Jeddah

    Nairobi, July 12, 2018...

Kenya Airways wishes to inform the public that it has suspended direct flights to Jeddah effective September 12, 2018. Guests traveling to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, beyond this date will be rerouted or rebooked through KQ partner airlines.

“We will continue to serve our customers in Jeddah through our existing cooperation with partner Airlines,” said Kenya Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Vincent Coste

The suspension will not affect those travelling for Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This year, the five-day pilgrimage will be concluded on 24 August 2018.

The decision to suspend flights to Jeddah is consistent with Kenya Airways’ strategy to improve its network efficiency and focus on the high yield Corporate and Premium Leisure segments.

In line with this strategy, Kenya Airways introduced direct flights to Mauritius as well as non-stop flights to Cape Town in June and it will open a daily non-stop flight to New-York on 28th October 2018.
