Empowering the People of Turkana County: An Initiative to Reduce Inequalities
On July 27, as part of our commitment to sustainability, a team of 12 staff led by Tom Shivo and Captain Donald Lochok undertook a CSR to uplift the lives of community members in Turkana County.
The mission took them to Ngitiakara Disabled Self Help Group, Nabwel - Ekorot Primary School, Lokalalio Primary School, and Kalokol Mixed Day Secondary School.
With the unwavering support of passionate KQ staff, they empowered over 1000 school-going boys and girls aged between 3 and 20 years, as well as 500 persons living with disabilities aged between 50 and 75 years in Kalokol ward.
The impact was profound, with more than 1 tonne of clothes and shoes, as well as over 1 tonne of nutritious dry foods collected in generous donations. Additionally, the team purchased approximately 4 tonnes of essential items, including dry food, sports equipment, and sanitary pads.
