Nairobi, Kenya, 2nd July 2024 – Kenya Airways and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on a strategic partnership aimed at intensifying the fight against trafficking in persons and enhancing the protection of migrants.
The collaboration brings together IOM Kenya’s expertise in migration governance and Kenya Airways’ extensive aviation network, to implement robust measures that will identify, prevent, combat trafficking in persons and facilitate regular pathways. This partnership is a testament to the commitment of both organizations to uphold human dignity and support the most vulnerable individuals on the move and promoting regular pathways.
Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Allan Kilavuka, said, “The collaboration with IOM Kenya demonstrates our dedication to corporate social responsibility and the well-being of all travellers. We are committed to providing our staff with the necessary training and resources to assist migrants, particularly those in vulnerable situations.”

IOM provided training to 37 Kenya Airways (KQ) employees from travel document, rapid response, passenger services, investigation, aviation security trainers, cargo security and security standards teams on how to identify, protect, and refer victims of trafficking (VoTs) they might encounter while performing their duties.

Nairobi, Kenya, April 04, 2025.......The 37th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 13 to 15 May 2025 in partnership with Kenya Airways (KQ). The conference is expected to bring together over 1,500 delegates from around the world and will focus on modernizing operations, workforce development, and enhanced collaboration to elevate performance across the aviation sector. His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, will officially open the conference.
