Nairobi, 3 December 2025_ Kenya’s tourism and aviation sectors marked World Disability Day today at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by showcasing major progress in supporting accessible travel and disability inclusion, aligning with the new Disability Act 2025.Kenya Airways (KQ) led the announcements by confirming the continued expansion of its KQ Ezesha program, which provides significant fare discounts for Kenyans with disabilities: 10% off domestic flights and 18% off international flights. The airline has also partnered with Accessible Travel Kenya to provide specialized airport transfers using wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
Reinforcing this sector-wide commitment, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) announced that Kenyan seniors and persons with disabilities will now enjoy free access to all national parks under the newly updated park fees. Simultaneously, the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) introduced a new standard for tourist service vehicles to ensure transport providers can better serve travellers with disabilities.
Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Kenya Airways, stated: “Today is not just about marking a day; it's a testament to the powerful collaboration across the Kenyan tourism sector. Through KQ Ezesha and our partnerships, we are actively dismantling barriers and ensuring that the beauty of Kenya is accessible to every citizen and visitor. " These efforts support the new Disability Act 2025 and show the strong commitment of the sector to making Kenya a truly inclusive tourism destination.
